Raising Quality! is a quality rating and improvement system for early care and education programs in San Joaquin County. Participating providers receive training, scholarships for professional development, and quality awards.
Licensed child care providers participated in Raising Quality!, and as a result, the 3,343 children in their care were better prepared for kindergarten.
First 5 San Joaquin disbursed over $1 million in quality awards and scholarships, and provided coaching and technical assistance to both center- and home-based providers, to support achievement of their quality benchmarks.
Kindergarten Bridge programs help children develop key school readiness skills and are offered on an elementary school campus for at least one week during the summer before children enter kindergarten.
